Last March, we found ourselves in the unprecedented situation of a global pandemic. We were all quite unaware of what was about to befall us. Now, a year later, it is almost impossible to believe that the strange times we are still living through are real.
We hope that you have stayed safe and well during the pandemic.
To kick off things on a bright & exciting side, Pax Financial Planning will be relocating its operations from Sandyford Business Park to Maple House in Stillorgan, opposite to the Stillorgan Village shopping centre in the next couple of weeks as the restrictions ease out.

Following the announcement of Ulster Bank Ireland DAC’s phased withdrawal of all its banking activity and associated services within the Republic of Ireland over the next number of years last week was all about KBC selling their performing loans to Bank of Ireland. In our opinion this is setting the wheels in motion for KBC to follow Ulster Bank with an Irish exit.
The various account holders, mortgage holders and those who have a loan with the bank will need to be transferred to other banks or lenders gradually.
This is an opportunity for anyone holding a mortgage with Ulster Bank and KBC to shop around for a better rate and beat the rush.
When it comes to current account we encourage clients to look at the current account market HERE
This link will bring to you the CCPC independent site on camparison of current account.
If you have a mortgage with Ulster Bank or KBC there is no need to panic, you current terms and rates will be honour by your new future bank until the term or special rate period is up. If you at at the end, or approaching the end, of an existing fixed rate period please do not hesitate to reach out to us for a mortgage consultation.
As the government still assess the impact of the pandemic, people are looking to the future and making plans to get their finances back on track. At Pax & AskPaul, we want to help you prepare you so that you can respond with confidence. We want you to know that we are here to answer any questions you may have.
We encourage all our clients that have not availed of our regular reviews to book an appointment and get the policies that you hold with us reviewed. This is to understand if any of the criteria used to finalise those choices you made with us in the past have changed due to updates in your personal and financial circumstances like welcoming a new member in the family or a job change or simply if you would like to increase or reduce your pension contributions.
